I hate being pregnant & I’m not sorry
Women are supposed to be mesmerized by the miracle taking place inside them, so totally in love with the changes their bodies are undergoing and grateful for the opportunity to nurture and bring forth new life into this world that they can hardly contain their elation. Anyone who doesn’t subscribe to this philosophy is somehow off.
I was 18 when I fell pregnant the first time, I didn’t really embrace it because I was young and shamed for it. So I suppressed it and let those nine months go by as if no changes were happening to my body.
Fast forward to 2019, almost 12 years later, I’m pregnant again. This time it’s different because I’m more independent (in all aspects of my life) I don’t have to hide anything from anyone, I can finally feel all the feelings and beauty that come with pregnancy. Did I say beauty? Well, that’s what I thought pregnancy came with. Wheew was I wrong.
The only beauty I have is the physical aspect of it, I am glowing if I do say so myself. But, everything that comes with pregnancy, has not been a walk in the park. So I did a survey on my facebook, just to make sure I wasn’t the only one feeling like this. I hate being pregnant and the responses to the below post made me realise that other women don’t enjoy this journey as much as we’re told to do so.
Well, if you’re a pregnant woman and not enjoying the journey, hopefully, these responses below make you feel better.

Society expects women with child to fawn over their growing babies with tenderness and excitement, but I’m here to tell you, if you don’t feel that way, you’re NOT alone.
